I think this is the most disgusting thing I've ever read. I'm glad I wasn't there to witness this. Well in this article, a man was arrested for having "sex" with a hog. First of all, why is he having sex with animals? Is he that desperate? I mean I see that he has an address for his home or whatever and I'm pretty sure he has internet so you know he could have done something with that. Secondly, this is nasty and dumb. I don't know what he was thinking but he might have been crazy to do this kind of thing. In addition to that, he was arrested for 12 counts of unnatural intercourse. I don't think you should be arrested but at the same time it is "unnatural." At first he was put on bail for $600,000 dollars and then it went down to $60,000. That's a pretty ridiculous price to pay for having sex with hogs. He could've a lot of prostitutes and might have gotten away with it too.

4/6 Mainstream Music 30 years ago vs Today
All, Does mainstream music still hold the same cultural/political importancetoday as it did thirty years ago? Why or why not? later, JTM
I don't think music from the past is the same as today. As time go on everything changes whether its the type of instruments used, lyrically, or content. The only thing that probably is still the same is the catchiness in mainstream music. It's the key to selling records. Back then most of the music were about the current situations and now its about partying, smoking, money, cars, and women. There really isn't any content in music today. It's just a fad for a good month or two and then it dies down. On the other hand, mainstream music thirty years ago lasted for years. Sometimes we hear it today. For instance, mainstream rappers today rap about iPhone 4s and blu rays. It would look really stupid if you listen to it 2 years from now. Like I said, its just a fad.

The first blog I chose was Nicole's "All about Nicole" blog. I thought that her title were catchy and it made me want to read what's going on. As far as her writing style, she almost always start out with "So I." It does sound boring after a few blogs but at the same time its funny. It makes her blog sound more dramatic than it is.
The second blog I chose is Vu's blog. Vu seems to write on personal experience and then relating it back to the topic. That's what makes it interesting...

Let's talk about Apple again. Ever since the iPhone became a phenomenon, many competitors tried to copy its style and compete against it. Did they sell like hotcakes? Think again, almost every single iPhone competitor fails. Is it because it does not have an Apple logo on it? Perhaps, but the real reason behind it is it's vast smartphone patents. Apple patented so many patents for the iPhone that it is hard for competitors to even try to emulate the style and features of the iPhone.
Just Yesterday, Samsung was being sued by Apple for infringing on their iPhone designs and user interface. While this is interesting, the ironic part is that Apple is the 2nd biggest customer of Samsung. To put that in respective, Apple bought $5.7 billion dollars worth of chips from Samsung last year. With this lawsuit going on, Samsung has a very hard decision to decide on.

4/18 Georgia on my Mind
All, Who's your favorite musician/musical artist from Georgia who was famous *before you were born*? Why?
To be honest, I don't really listen to anyone before I was born. The reason is because my family moved over to America in 1990 and they're not fluent in english and therefore I wasn't exposed to music in the past. As I grew up, I listened to mainstream radio station music and thats what I like. As far as a famous Georgia born before me, Ray Charles is the only person I can think of. I remember the popular song "Georgia on my Mind" played in school and at plays and that is really the only time I heard Ray Charles. I know this is sad but its is the reality.

3/30 Taylor Swifty

Choose a song/video from the album by the artist you usually wouldn't listen to, post it and discuss why you were surprised, incredulous, etc., about the quality of the music.
I probably wouldn't listen to Taylor Swift. Better yet, I wouldn't even want to associate myself with Taylor because I'm a guy. That would be gay right? Well when we were driving to Athen, my friend turned on Taylor Swift. He is a huge Taylor Swift fan and I have to say he got a girlfriend. When I was listening to her song "Better Than Revenge," and " "Mine," I immediately say to myself, "gee her lyrics are clean." I was suprised by the catchiness of her songs even though she is country and it is clean. This goes to show that you don't need to talk about women, cars, and money to sell records. This women sold millions of records!
Taylor Swift's songs a re based upon her experience. This is what gives her song a more personal touch and connection that her fans can relate to. Unlike other artists who talk about money and cars, she actually go through it and on top of that writes her own lyrics. I am surprised by her talent as she is very young. Other than that I would recommend guys listening to Taylor Swift when you're with your girl because they dig that.

My first year in college has been good. I've experienced many new things and some things I prefer not to say. As many of you guys already know, college is all about time management. You have all the time in the world and you just have to somehow squeeze in your college life. Yep, theres parties and parties that happens virtually every night especially when you're in Atlanta, but you have to be responsible and use your time wisely. I think college is almost just like high school work wise. The only difference is you don't have anyone to force you to do stuff. It's up to you really so its kind of harder for most students to force themselves to work hard. I try my best because I actually pay for part of my education.

3/23 Libya and Freedom Packages

What do you think about the entire situation in Libya and what did you know about the country prior to it seemingly popping up out of nowhere, news-wise, three or so weeks ago? Also, do you agree with the Daily Show's skewering ofour foreign policy in this clip? Have we gotten to a point where freedom and democracy are nothing more than ideological ShamWows?
Prior to all of the violence in Libya, I did not know anything about the small country other than the fact that it's in Africa. It seems like all of these countries are revolting at once. I think Gaddafi should step down since he's been the ruler for so many decades.
The daily show clips shows that our foreign policy is like informercials. We're basically giving help to countries that we think will benefit us in the future. It's kind of like a the golden rule. Treat others the way you like to be treated. If the U.S. help out those particular countries, they will help you out in some other way. (oil)
